10 Amazing Facts About Bermuda Triangle

Man’s nature is inculcated with the desire to explore. Our world is full of mysteries and things that are yet to be discovered and explored. In this quest of truth finding, man has come across various such things that have not found their true and logical explanation, the cause of their existence, and their actual history are still secrets. Bermuda Triangle is one of them. A lot is yet to be known, hence provoking speculations; no one knows are true or false. However, some known amazing facts about it are:

  1. Bermuda Triangle is also known by the names: the Devil’s Triangle, Bermuda Mystery, Devil’s Sea, and The Hoodoo Sea
  2.  It is not recognized by United States Board on Geographic Names, and it is not identified in any map drawn and published by the Unites States Government agencies.
  3. Although it is located in the Atlantic Ocean, yet the exact and precise location of Bermuda Triangle cannot be defined, as different sources define the area differently. The most commonly defined boundaries of Bermuda Triangle are its 3 peaks in Miami, Florida Peninsula (San Juan, Puerto Rico); and mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda.
  4.  The strange happenings of Bermuda Triangles were not known until they came to lime light through Christopher Columbus. His description of the abnormalcy consists of seeing strange lights and strange workings of compass.
  5. Several airplanes, ships and boats have gone missing without any minute remains. The most famous of these is American fighter Plane Flight 19. According to some records, the last words of the pilot were, “We are entering white water, nothing seems right. We don’t know where we are, the water is green, no white.”
  6. It is the most travelled sea route in contrast to all its mysterious happening and brooding over threats to the shipments and travelers.
  7.  Besides South Pole, it is the only place in the world where the compass does not points North correctly.
  8.  Bermuda Triangle is said to cover as much area as three US cities Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma put together would cover, which is about 440,000 miles of sea.
  9. Different theories encircle the phenomenon description of its existence: UFOs, Running of Gulf Waters, and the Lost City Of Atlantis.
  10. Some researches deny Bermuda Triangle being the cause of mishaps there, and blame them partly as human error and partly on weather conditions. However, it is strange to attribute around 1000 lives in 100 years to the said causes.
